Club History
Who can remember what we did in 1998 .... well here's a wee reminder ..
Inbhirfaolin was the opening meet, Brian nearly lost his glove and it snowed !
Followed swiftly by Mill Cottage in March, and the arrival of a bunch of Brians chums from Std Life for the first time. The meet was suddenly oversubscribed 23 to 14. Curry and singing the order of the weekend and Andy Wadsworth wrote a poem about it !
The AGM was in April, a meet at Morvich. Average but manageable weather and some dodgy descents ....
Arran was another venue for the year - a good Corbett bagging meet, and music with a difference with frying pans.
In May, Badralloch, and just aswell someone turned up wth cooking equipment.
Manse Barn in June was handily placed for the bar in the Onich Hotel.
CMC also in June. All sorts of fun on Tower Ridge !
Ling Hut was next - a full 13 and much bagging of Torridonian mountains.
August - Strathpeffer .. busy year this ... only four turned up for this, and Ben Wyvis was summarily ticked.
Then Glen Brittle and another busy meet. Weather poor to begin with so we built a kitchen. Improved by Saturday.
October was Knoydart and The White House, followed swiftly by a return to Strawberry for eleven souls.
As 1998 drew to a close there was a trip into Ossian to the YHA to try and lose a rucksack. It found it's way back eventually.
Next year to be summarised will be 1999 .... watch this space
