I am glad that I won't have to press-gang friends in order to make up the required minimum! Most of them are wise to my hill exploits, and either move abroad or commit crimes in order to receive the relative safety of Her Majesty's prisons! I will in due course be in touch with Sandy about a booking. Club membership is also of interest, though recently we have been more often abroad than in Scotland. If the future permits us more access to the Scottish Hills, then I would be seriously inclined to join. Are you geographically centred somewhere, or a national club whose meets are mountain based; i.e, do you have social meets? Thanks again for the use of Strawberry Cottage; I do appreciate it. Obviously bookings of 8+ are preferable from an admin perspective, but our bookings secretatry (Sandy) always tries to be flexible, especially midweek and away from peak weekends. Drop him an enquiry with dates. PS Our club is looking for new members and we have several young parents who have found themselves in similar situations and breadth of membership in our club. It's a great location, and a great hut. I hope to use it again this year. I am a member of the MC of S, and my use would likely be off peak and mid week. It slightly worried me that you say on your website that a normal minimum of 8 people is required to book the hut. I don't think I could manage to gather 8 people I'm afraid, and last time stayed with 2 and 3 others respectively. I'm hoping that this isn't a problem. I am more than happy not to have "exclusive" use of the hut, providing that others are willing to put up with me! Maybe you could confirm whether some flexibility is possible on this issue, as I've really enjoyed staying at the hut.Being a young father, with all my friends in a similar position, it's hard to gather 8 for the hill at once!....unless you allow it to be used as creche!!
